2008 Tour de France winner Carlos Sastre returned home to a hero’s welcome. Almost two thousand people gathered to welcome the cycling champion in his home town of El Barraco in Spain as the municipal authorities staged a reception for the 33-year-old CSC rider. Sastre, who will be part of the Spain’s road race team at the Beijing Olympics, spoke out against the use of drugs in cycling, pointing out that the issue has caused immeasurable damage to the sport.
