Roger Federer has confirmed he will return after a three week lay off at next week's Madrid Masters. The Swiss star had opted to rest after playing the Davis Cup but said he hoped to be back before the end of the year. The Swiss who lost his number one ranking to Nadal this year won the tournament in 2006. He lost to David Nalbandian in the final last year
